Activities and Events for the Family, July Part 1

Hi All,

For those who would like to have something fun to do over the weekends, we have some very cool, very hip opportunities coming up around the neighborhood:


It’s My Park Day at Harlem River ParkHelp clean and beautify the park, and stick around for exciting family programming and events. 

Where: 135th Street and Madison Avenue

When: July 11 at 11:00AM-3:00PM

Run/Walk/Crawl at Marcus Garvey Park

Where: Front of Recreation Center, West 122nd Street and Mount Morris Park West

When: Every Saturday at 10:30AM

Pop-up Arte: From NYC Parks and El Museo Del Barrio : “Families! Kids! Join us for fun-filled sessions of art! Visit us at the following locations, Wednesdays in June, July and August throughout Harlem. El Museo del Barrio will offer art-making workshops at select locations. All ages welcome.”

Where: James Weldon Johnson (E. 115th at Lexington Ave.)

When:  July 13, 3:00PM – 4:30PM

Vendy Plaza Outdoor Market : “Please join us this Sunday (7/10) at La Marqueta for our weekly outdoor market series in Vendy Plaza! There will be crafts, drinks, great food from local artisans and Vendy Award finalists, as well as live music. Be sure to come out and enjoy great music and food with family, friends, and neighbors. FREE and OPEN to the public!”

When: Every Sunday, from 12:00PM – 6:00PM

El Barrio Raices Summer Program 2016 : “La Marqueta Retoña and Hispanic Federation in collaboration with Boundless Theater company and Producciones El Barrio are providing a free theater summer program for our community’s youth. Youth ages 7-10 and all skill levels are welcome! Registration is free and is taking place between June 22nd and July 15th. Register by calling either (347)-724-3640 or (917) 239-0246 or via email”
