May 20, 2017: Women’s Health
Second walk of our 4th season!
Last year we launched our women’s health programming, with a walk to the student-run clinic at Mt. Sinai to learn about cancer screening, and a visit to the Institute for Family Health (IFH) to learn about reproductive services. This year we pick up with another visit to IFH to learn more.
It was a cloudy day with rain imminent, but our intrepid families made it out for the walk. We skipped the visit to Marcus Garvey Park and headed right to IFH where we are always welcomed.
Dr. Aimee Mankodi led the session and we had plenty of activities for the kids. We ate our apples and bananas there in the classroom and our parents’ questions generated great discussion.
Another great walk!
